Sex Therapy Relationship Counseling

Sexual Counseling

The aim of the Counseling is to get a solution-focused view of sexual problems or problems in a partnership. The Counseling is supposed to help you by activating your own resources and thus creating your own sexuality in a better way. Most often the issue is overcoming your own speechlessness and being able to act again.

The cause could be problems or dissatisfaction with one’s own sexuality as for example:

  • Loss of desire or differing needs and desires in the relationship
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Vaginismus
  • Premature or missing ejaculation
  • Problems with having orgasms
  • Problems or changed sexuality due to age
  • Feeling shame or having a distorted view of one’s own body
  • Questions around sexual identity and orientation
  • Porn addiction

The Sexual Counseling offers you a protected space for unexpressed desires, expectations and conflicts. Subject to the ethical guidelines of the Trusted Bodywork seal of approval all information will be treated strictly confidential.

Sexual Counseling and guided body exercises can possibly be offered via Skype or telephone. Please direct your requests straight to the counselor.

Sex Therapy

The word "Therapy" comes via Latin therapīa from Greek: θεραπεία and literally means "curing" or "healing“. Therapy is the attempted remediation of a health problem, usually following a diagnosis. In the medical field, it is usually synonymous with treatment.

The goal of the therapist is to facilitate or accelerate a cure, to eliminate or alleviate the symptoms and to restore the physical or mental function.

Sex therapists should have comprehensive medical education.

Counseling, Therapy or Coaching?

Terms like "Sexual Counseling", "Sex Therapy", "Sexual Coaching" and "Couple Therapy" are not protected in most countries. Pay attention to the selection of the provider on an appropriate training.

Doctors and psychotherapists are bound by the rules of their respective professional associations and offer only a hands-off version of sexual counseling or sex therapy.

Offers that include somatic learning and hands-on work can be found under the keyword "Sexual Coaching" for example.

Psychologists look you in the head and sexologists in the pants. Congratulations. I am both!

Ann Marlene Henning Sex Therapy Relationship Counseling Hamburg

"When I said that sentence one year ago in an interview, I did not realize how clearly it shows in its simplicity what sex therapy is, albeit in a figurative sense and in a humorous way. Sex therapists talk to clients about sexual concerns: orgasm problems; come too early, too late or not at all. Erectile dysfunction may also be a topic or diffuse, missing desire '. Pain during intercourse as well.

Work is done in very different ways, such as depth psychology, behavioral therapy or rather body-oriented. Against every 'disturbance' of sexuality (usually) something can be done and improvement can be achieved. Even speaking itself usually leads to pressure reduction and thus to relief.

Hardly anyone thinks about it, especially when things work out on their own: a lot of sexuality is not innate, but is only learned with the experience. Therefore, sexual therapy is mainly about expanding various sexual abilities. About more knowledge. About exercises. There are virtually undreamt-of possibilities for development.

And also good to know:
During treatment, everyone stays dressed! Who would have thought?"
